Cosmetic Surgery

Sometimes Medical Practitioners make mistakes where patients are undergoing cosmetic/plastic surgery. Mistakes can also occur whilst patients are recovering from cosmetic/plastic surgery.

Common types of claims include:-

  • Failure to obtain informed consent;
  • Breast enlargement;
  • Tummy tucks or gastric band surgery;
  • Damage to nerve, arteries and organs;
  • Brow lifts;
  • Laser skin resurfacing;
  • Breast reduction;
  • Cosmetic dentistry.

Common errors whilst patients are recovering from surgery include failure to diagnose that a patient is developing an infection.

Claims can arise because the surgery has not been carried out with the necessary skill by the Surgeon or because treatment of complications following the surgery has been negligent.

A claim on behalf of an injured patient will include compensation for pain, suffering and loss of amenity and financial losses and also psychological damage.
