Eye Treatment

Claims for eye treatment cover the following:-

  • Delay in diagnosis of retinopathy of prematurity;
  • Glaucoma;
  • Negligent eye surgery;
  • Retinal detachment;
  • Temporary or permanent blindness affecting one or both eyes caused by laser surgery;
  • Surgery causing damage to a previously healthy eye;
  • Damage to the eye or tear ducts during treatment.

Patients have the right to expect appropriate medical treatment.

Corrective ophthalmic laser surgery has become increasingly available, affordable and popular recently. However, some patients find that the problems that they hoped to rectify with surgery have in fact been made worse by medical treatment.

Claims will encompass the costs for appropriate treatment, rectification and compensation for pain, suffering and loss of amenity.
